The lamp that was, is and will be
The lamp was my grandmothers, she used to have a pink fabric hanging down. The lamp is now mine and I experimented with old newspapers which turned out interestingly but not completely satisfactory… The lamp will be redone, as soon as I have a clear idea of what and how to do it..

Paper clip couple
We are in the process of moving. First we decided it was time to get back to civilization and for us meaning Stockholm and my one room apartment. This was a bit to small for us and it is a dark flat. And now we are moving to a larger apartment which I believe will be close to perfect, for us!

The Mask
Here in Sweden is basically impossible to sleep during the summer, it is kind of bright all night long. It is the opposite in the winter but that is a completely different matter and should not be thought of during summer. Anyhow, the brightness makes it impossible to sleep without the best blinds in the world that lets in ZERO light or with a sleeping mask. And here it comes, The sleeping mask!

Scrappy crappy art no.1
From somewhere I got inspiration to do art, or just go crazy with stuff I had at home. I will now present my first of my scrappy crappy art projects.
This is made totally out of recycled material: previously used toilet paper… (ok, just kidding toilet paper is something I am not planning on reusing) But the frame is painted old cardboard box..

Pillow with filling out of scraps
This is what I had:
A super cute owl fabric and a lot of scraps.
It all started with me looking at the scraps going something like “really, you have saved these small pieces of fabrics which are not going to ever be useful for anything” and then I realized they CAN be useful for filling the inside of a pillow, specially the fleece fabrics.

Skirt patched with flowers
I still had fabric left on the crazily floral dress which I used to make the skirt some weeks ago. I also had a skirt I did ages ago but was too long and a bit dull.
First of all I needed to make it shorter, the fabric is not really suitable for a long skirt. Then flower it up..

Up-buttoning a lamp
After upbuttoning my bag some weeks ago I started to upbutton a lamp.
A tip is to not use the glue gun too close to the cat. I wanted to use only one type of buttons: white made from shells (I beileve the are made from shells anyhow). And this got me this far:

Crazily floral skirt
This is what I started with, a very flattering floral dress.. Which I of course never used, ok once but it was a fancydress party…
I wanted to try to remake a skirt I tried on my vacation in Tenerife earlier this spring. With a front where two flaps are sown from the backside to the front, giving the skirt a natural good shape. In the back the waist is attached to an elastic band.

Bag for exercise clothes
After a weekend in Stockholm with PhD party, meeting my new nephew and hanging out with my dear friend I am back in the small town.
Todays crafting was for the kid that needed a bag for his exercise clothes for school. I made a simple design out of an old pillow case and some leftover blue fabric. This should do the trick. He might have said from the start that he didn’t like white and blue...

Up-buttoned bag
Starting with this bag made out of jeans fabric years ago. I used it quite much in my teens.. Doesn’t look like anything I would wear or anyone I can think of. But still I like it and the fabric starts to be worn down at the edges which gives it a nice look.

Spring!
The past days has been lovely here in Sweden. The temperature has been high enough to be outdoors without wearing a jacket. Spring starts to be here!
And for the first time in many years I’ve had the time to notice the signs of the seasons and I must admit that I am a bit ashamed that I haven’t taken the time to spend more time in nature. What is life if only rushing through it...

Finishing touches on a knitted cardigan
Years ago (time flies) I started to knit on a cardigan from yarn my mother colored (with flees I believe) when she was my age.
However, there are still some left to do, the collar has a bit of a too rugged edge. Today I got the idea to make a simple plait and sew on it. Lets see how it will go.

Post vacation
Been away on a vacation to the island Tenerife (Spain) and now finally start to feel relaxed. It’s a beautiful volcanic island worth the travel and which I would like to visit again. For the moment it is winter and the temperature was a bit to cold for swimming but none the less it was a good place to be.
